Lil Wayne Victorious in Legal Dispute with Cash Money Records

According to various reports, Young Money CEO, Lil Wayne, has emerged victorious in his lawsuit against Cash Money Records, his home since starting his career.

Wayne Carter originally filed a 51 million dollar lawsuit against Cash Money and its CEO, Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams and the label’s distributor Universal Music Group due a follow up album, Tha Carter V, which hasn’t been released. The rapper claims he’s owed money for the project and it was not released by Birdman, although officially completed. He also sued Universal ($40 million) for money that purportedly is owed to him for royalties from his Young Money artists, including Nicki Minaj and Drake.

According to Billboard, Lil Wayne’s attorney Ron Sweeney of Sweeney, Johnson & Sweeney LLC had this to say, “Per our settlement agreement, the matter has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of all parties,” Sweeney said in a statement to Billboard. “In terms of the particulars, we’re prohibited legally from saying anything further. I can say that my client is happy. He is his own man, a man that owns his assets, his music and himself. At some point, Wayne will let his fans know what’s going to happen next.”
