Penn State Athletics, Adidas Announce 10-Year Partnership
The launch of the union signals the start of a bold new chapter for Penn State Athletics
Penn State Athletics and adidas have officially begun a transformational 10-year partnership, with adidas becoming the Nittany Lions’ official footwear, uniform, apparel and sideline partner effective July 1.
The partnership unites two iconic brands, bringing together the Nittany Lions’ storied legacy of 85 national championships and 335 conference championships with adidas’ industry-leading innovation and vision.
The launch of the union signals the start of a bold new chapter for Penn State Athletics — one rooted in tradition, driven by innovation and focused on empowering student-athletes while delivering memorable experiences for Nittany Lion fans around the world and expanding the reach of the Penn State brand. Throughout the partnership, Penn State and adidas will collaboratively prioritize high-impact NIL agreements and brand marketing campaigns for Penn State student-athletes across the university’s 31 sports.

In addition to welcoming student-athletes and fans to this new chapter, adidas teamed up with the beloved Penn State Nittany Lion to show just how transformative the Three Stripes can be. In a campaign film launched today, the Nittany Lion is fitted in adidas footwear and a custom adidas track suit, but with a twist. The fur tracksuit matches seamlessly with the Nittany Lion’s brown fur — a glow-up worthy of one of college athletics’ most iconic mascots. The film makes clear adidas isn’t just outfitting Penn State’s student-athletes and fans — it’s embedding itself into the fabric of the university, following the Nittany Lion around campus and many of the university’s storied athletic facilities alongside Penn State alumni and adidas partners Abdul Carter and Ali Krieger.
Debuted in the film by Carter and Krieger, the initial drop of the officially licensed adidas and Penn State gear is available today via adidas.com/us/penn_state_nittany_lions, local retailers and online retail partners. The collection was designed collaboratively with Penn State and informed by the Blue & White DNA that adidas partners like Carter, Krieger, Micah Parsons and Micha Hancock proudly represent.

To celebrate, adidas and Penn State will be hosting an adidas Pop-Up Shop at Pegula Ice Arena on July 1-2 and July 8-12 to serve as a one-stop shop for fans to shop exclusive merchandise from every Penn State sport. A collectable co-branded gift with purchase will be available while supplies last.
The historic Penn State Berkey Creamery will also join the festivities with a limited-time flavor in honor of the partnership launch. The limited-edition flavor will be available at the Berkey Creamery throughout the month of July, as well as at the adidas Pop-Up Shop at Pegula on select dates.

Under the leadership of Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft, Penn State has one of the nation’s most comprehensive and successful athletic programs, featuring nearly 800 student-athletes across 31 varsity programs (16 men’s, 15 women’s). The Nittany Lions’ 31 programs are tied for the fourth-highest number of sports sponsored by a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institution.
Penn State student-athletes earned a record-tying 93% NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and 13 programs earned perfect 100% ratings in the 2025 report. This is the ninth consecutive year the Nittany Lions have posted a record or record-tying performance in the classroom. Penn State is one of only eight schools that have won at least 10 NCAA Championships since the 2015-16 academic year and earned at least a 90 percent Graduation Success Rate (GSR) in the 2025 NCAA report (Florida, North Carolina, Stanford, Texas, UCLA, USC, Virginia).
