Lil Wayne emerged on top of other known sports agencies that had spoken to Hunter. He is projected to be the number one draft pick, if not, one of the top three. The cornerback/wide receiver purportedly had conversations with the Klutch Sports Group, WME, CAA, and Athletes First.
Hunter recently completed his last season at Colorado after initially playing with Jackson State University. He followed his head coach, NFL Hall of Famer Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders when he left the HBCU to take over the reins of the head coaching position at Colorado. Hunter became the first number one recruit in the country to go to an HBCU to pursue his collegiate career. He goes out on top as the best collegiate football player this season.
The football player will join athletes represented by Young Money which has divisions across the NFL, NBA, soccer, and college sports.
Hunter is already signed to Michael Strahan’s SMAC Entertainment to represent his off-field endeavors. The agency also represents his soon-to-be former teammate Shedeur Sanders and Coach Prime. Hunter was the first brand ambassador with Strahan’s agency when he signed an NIL agreement as a JSU freshman.
He is known for his generous nature as it was recently reported that Hunter has been giving money to his Colorado teammates via the team’s NIL (name, image, and likeness) Collective, according to Deion Sanders’ namesake son. It hasn’t been decided if he will enter the NFL draft as a cornerback or wide receiver or both as a two-way player. Traditionally, cornerbacks are paid more than wide receivers in the NFL, which may play into his decision.
