“I chose to use the Spanish version of my mother’s name (Geneba) to pay homage to the tradition and authenticity of “tequila.” Many don’t realize that by law, tequila must be imported from Mexico to bear the name tequila. Our tequila is made from the blue agave plant in the highlands of Jalisco, and thus we honor this heritage with the name, Geneba,” shares IngridLaVon.
