Coco Gauff Swings Into New York To Introduce Latest New Balance Sneaker, Coco CG2

On Thursday, August 22, tennis phenom Coco Gauff, who is in New York to defend her US Open title appeared at “Coco’s Court” on 5th Avenue to show the world (well, special invited guests) the launch of her latest New Balance footwear, Coco CG2. The crowd was plentiful and as people walked around the venue to check out the latest collection of New Balance sneakers, we were treated to drinks, some food, and sneakers! (Well, not me, having big feet left me shoeless, but with the promise of future sneakers for my big feet)

There was a surprise performance by Jaden Smith as Miss Gauff appeared to be surprised when he was introduced. As people checked out the new gear and different articles of clothing that were hanging and/or folded on display, it was a festive evening for all who attended.

“I was definitely not expecting to be surprised by Jaden last night! I’m always listening to Icon to get myself hyped up before I play, so it was amazing to see him perform it live,” said Coco Gauff. “Being part of the New Balance family alongside him is really special to me, and I’m so grateful he came out to support me and the launch of my Coco CG2 last night!”

The New Balance Coco CG2 debuted on August 21 with the Power and Grace colorway which can be purchased on www.newbalance.com, with the suggested retail price of $159.99. There was an exclusive pop-up event that took place in NYC on August 23-24.

In a press release from New Balance, Gauff stated, “I had as much fun designing and collaborating on the Coco CG2 as I did with the Coco CG1. My relationship with the New Balance team is incredible, and I’m excited to see what people think of the evolution of this shoe!”

Crafted with responsive Energy Arc technology, the Coco CG2 is made for the elite tennis athlete who makes explosive moves on the court. A multi-density FuelCell midsole, equipped with a carbon fiber plate, provides comfort, a propulsive energy-returning feeling and essential stability in all areas of the game. Window details at the lateral heel and on the durable Ndurance outsole reveal the shoe’s carbon fiber plate technology in a unique way, according to the press release.

Gauff is the youngest player to win the U.S. Open since 1999 and the youngest American woman to win an Olympic singles match since 2000. The Coco CG2 is the third signature shoe for Team New Balance Women across tennis, running, and softball and only the ninth signature shoe for female athletes in the sport.
