“Streets” – Godbliss
Godbliss is from the Highbridge section of the Bronx. Hip-Hop is in his blood. The immersive experience of his concrete jungle comes to life on his recent single, “Streets.” An ode to the images and stories that define his inner city, Bliss uncovers the pitfalls and the hope he sees over a beat backdrop, reminiscent of an early Nas album.
“I’m painting vivid pictures of scenarios that happen in the hood. The otrocities, the sorrow, the stress…”
The Bronx has never been a quiet place. But, since the introduction of COVID-19, Bliss is reeling from the uptick in violence unfolding all around him. He is compelled to pen the events, which are steadily rising in his city – and cities across the country.
“The last straw for me was when someone fired shots and struck a baby and her mother,” Bliss says.
The track was produced by Da Inphamus Amadeuz, and can be streamed on all digital platforms.
