Stephon Marbury’s Chamelo Launches With New York Knicks Team Edition Sunglasses
“I grew up dreaming about the Knicks. I wore that jersey on the floor at MSG. Now I’m a co-founder of the brand making officially licensed Knicks sunglasses — and they’re dropping while my old team is back in the postseason,” said Marbury, co-founder of Chamelo
Chamelo and the NBA Launch Officially Licensed Music Shield Team Edition Sunglasses — New York Knicks Edition Available Now
Smart eyewear meets fan gear: team colors, lens-etched logos, instant tint-adjusting lenses, and built-in audio. Stephon Marbury — Knicks legend and Chamelo Co-Founder — leads the launch. Lakers, Celtics, and Spurs Editions drop in early May.
NEW YORK — April 29, 2026 — Chamelo, the smart eyewear brand behind Eclipse™ tint-adjusting and Prismatic™ color-changing lens technology, today announced an official licensing partnership with the National Basketball Association and the launch of the Music Shield Team Edition collection. The first release — the New York Knicks Edition — is available now at chamelo.com for $260, with editions for the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and San Antonio Spurs releasing in early May, and more teams following soon after.
Each pair is built in official team colors, with the team’s logo etched directly into the Eclipse™ lens — a detail that subtly appears and recedes as wearers cycle through the four tint levels. Underneath the team styling sits the same Music Shield platform: instant electronic tint-adjusting lenses (63%–17% VLT, switching in 0.1 seconds), open-ear Bluetooth 5.3 audio, 99.9% UVA/UVB protection, and IPX4 water resistance.
For Stephon Marbury — Chamelo Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer, two-time NBA All-Star, and former Knick — the Knicks Edition is the kind of launch he didn’t see coming when he was a kid in Coney Island.
“This is a full-circle moment for me,” said Marbury. “I grew up dreaming about the Knicks. I wore that jersey on the floor at MSG. Now I’m a co-founder of the brand making officially licensed Knicks sunglasses — and they’re dropping while my old team is back in the postseason. You can’t script it any better than that.”
“Every fan knows the feeling,” he continued. “You’ve got the hat, the jersey, the sneakers. The glasses were the missing piece. Now you can finish the fit and you’re actually getting real tech for it — tint that adjusts to the light, audio built in, full UV protection. Make every day game day.”
What’s in the Music Shield Team Edition
Officially licensed by the NBA, each pair carries the official NBA mark and the team’s official logo and colors. The Eclipse™ tint-adjusting lenses cycle through four levels at the slide of a finger, from clear in shade to dark in full sun, with the team logo etched directly into the lens. Open-ear Bluetooth 5.3 audio delivers focused, directional sound for music, podcasts, and calls while keeping wearers aware of their surroundings. The frame is a 51-gram TR90 build with 6 hours of audio playback and 62 hours of tint battery life.
The New York Knicks Edition is built in royal blue and orange with Knicks Orange lenses and the official Knicks logo etched into the lens. Available now at chamelo.com — $260.
