I made a PSA and asked for small clips of Mac Dre fans dancing to the song, and the response was overwhelming. It’s a real testament to his lasting legacy and the love people still have for him. Everyone surrounding him could relate to him. He was a voice of the underworld, but also incredibly charismatic and an energy of fun. His motto was: Keep it gangsta but be yourself, get the most out of life. Mac was like, ‘I did too much time to be wasting time. I’m finna have fun and look good while doing it,’ I think everyone should adopt that type of mindset. Throughout his career, Mistah F.A.B. has balanced his music with his role as a pillar in the Oakland community. In 2014, the city of Oakland officially made February 8th Mistah F.A.B. Day, in honor of his work in his community, from sponsoring and organizing numerous charitable works, including backpack giveaways, toy drives, turkey drives, and Easter Egg hunts, to funding scholarships and fundraising for groups homes. He also created programs for musicians while building local recording studios.
