HYBRID NATION x MINNESOTA UNITED COLLABORATION DROPS MAY 25, 2021

Locally Owned Socially Conscious Streetwear Brand Debuts Limited Edition Collection for Major League Soccer Team

Saint Paul, MN – May 24, 2021 – On May 25th, 2021 at 10:00 am CST the limited-edition Minnesota United capsule collection with Hybrid Nation will drop. The apparel collection with Hybrid Nation, a locally owned, socially conscious streetwear brand led by Jeremy Sutherland will offer a bomber jacket, zip pullover, jogger track pants, and a ballcap, all sold exclusively online at www.hybridnationclothing.com and the Black and Blue Team Store at Allianz Field, www.minnesotaunitedmobileshop.com .

The collaboration is part of a larger commitment in 2021 by Major League Soccer to increase supplier diversity and follows the launch of previous collaborations with minority-owned brands in other markets. Director of Merchandising and Licensing for Minnesota United Katie Burke worked with Sutherland to launch the Hybrid Nation collection.

The design for the collection was also a collaboration with input and direction given from MNUFC defender Michael Boxall and shared with the Hybrid Nation design team. The year five bomber jacket, ¼ zip pullover, jogger track pants, and loon feather dad hat celebrate the blue, gray, black, and pop of red colors of the team, adding signature design elements from the streetwear brand.

“Hybrid Nation is thrilled to debut this capsule collection with Minnesota United,” said Sutherland. “It was an incredible experience developing the design with Michael Boxall, and then launching the collection with him wearing it means we are poised to sell out this limited-edition collection very quickly.”

“Jeremy [Sutherland] at Hybrid Nation has a lot of expertise and being a local Minnesotan, it’s awesome to get involved with brands and smaller businesses like his,” said Minnesota United defender Michael Boxall. “He’s great at what he does and for me to see what happens behind the scenes and have a little bit of input in the final product was pretty cool.”

Hybrid Nation is a Minnesota-owned, socially conscious streetwear brand that was launched in 2015 by then Carleton College students Jeremy Sutherland and Kellan McLemore.  It has been made famous by Sutherland’s brother Justin, who is also the Culinary Consultant to Allianz Field, during his television appearances on Iron Chef America, Bravo’s Top Chef Season 16, and TruTv’s Fast Foodies.  Proceeds from the sale of this collection will be donated locally to Voices for Racial Justice, a Minneapolis-based charitable organization.
