To Be Eaten Alive will be Mariah The Scientist’s third studio album, and her first since joining Epic Records, kicking off this new era of her career with a new and highly-motivated team behind her. “Mariah is a dynamic creative force with a clear vision for her music and the experience surrounding it…,” says Ezekiel Lewis, President of Epic Records. “She is well equipped to help lead R&B music into the future and we could not be more thrilled to be her partners on that journey.”” he echos. Mariah The Scientist adds, “I was reluctant to sign a new deal… But I was excited to find a partner that understands me as an artist and has the infrastructure to support me in the ways I need most.”

Mariah The Scientist’s official return to the airwaves, “From A Woman,” delivers on the vulnerable, graceful style that has helped her develop a reputation as a leader of R&B’s next-gen. Buoyed by a new wave and pop-infused instrumental, Mariah achieves her preferred levels of emotional depth effortlessly as she weaves a tale of a new, hope-filled romance.

If the first leg of her career is any indication, Mariah The Scientist has strategically set herself up for a run at true stardom with Epic Records. In the age of microwave fame and viral sensationalism, Mariah has moved to the beat of her own drum and steadily developed a loyal, core fanbase that’s grown with her from her days of uploading music to Soundcloud in 2018. With just two full-length projects, 2019’s Master and 2021’s Ry Ry World, she has captured the attention of a generation that continues to support her as she reaches new heights, be they opening for Coldplay and Ariana Grande in arenas and stadiums or commandeering the Coachella stage on her own.

“Scorpions, like myself, are considered non-social and solitary animals,” states Mariah The Scientist, providing context to the title of her new album. “Interacting only on rare occasion, such as courtship. For the grand and notable lion, the scorpion seems to be a small feat. They are an unpredictable match and yet they establish a mutual respect for each other’s curious differences.”

There’s much more to the Scorpion than meets the eye. “They are both natural born predators. This bond requires sacrifice, trust, and discipline. As for the venomous scorpion, to be eaten alive is to kill.”
