LOS ANGELES, Calif (April 30, 2019), It’s the battle of the returning champs in season three of the Lexus 0 to 60 Challenge. This intense, fun-filled racing competition pits two celebrity teams against one another to see who will reign supreme on the road and it’s all hosted by Big Tigger. The new season is live now on the Lexus YouTube channel.
Team Salley is made up of actors Jaleel White (Family Matters, Me, Myself & I) and Omar Benson Miller (Ballers, CSI: Miami) with NBA legend and season one Lexus 0 to 60 winner John Salley taking the spot of team captain. Their coach is Scott Pruett, one of the most decorated race car champions of all time.
Team Jeter is led by three-time Olympic gold medalist and season two Lexus 0 to 60 champion, Carmelita Jeter with actors Mekhi Phifer (The Bobby Brown Story, Canal Street) and Curtis Hamilton (Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge and Michel’le) holding their own as well. Team Jeter’s coach is Jack Hawksworth, one of today’s fastest and most versatile professional racing drivers.
Both teams will hit the course at the notorious Laguna Seca, an 11-turn, 2.2 mile paved road course on the beautiful coast of central California. Each celebrity teammate will take to the road in either the Lexus GS F, LC 500 or RC F Track Edition.
Lauded as equal parts luxury and performance, the Lexus GS F sports sedan holds its own as an exhilarating and worthy contender. With enhanced steering, suspension and braking systems, the LC 500 is known as one of the most responsive Lexus models available commanding attention on the road and at Laguna Seca. The Lexus RC F Track Edition boasts a plush interior, quiet engine and is regarded as an exciting addition to the increasingly rare V8 sports car landscape.
Over the course of the two-day shoot, both teams took to the road to compete in five different challenges including the Slide & Shalom Challenge, the Corkscrew Challenge and the Team Relay — each designed to test the cars and teammates’ abilities behind the wheel. The winner of the competition gets to take home bragging rights and one of the featured cars for a year.
Season three promises to deliver the same action-packed excitement of the previous two seasons plus more car, more talent, more stunts and more antics from the celebrity teams.
So, who will win this year’s Lexus 0 to 60 Challenge? Tune in to find out when the season premieres April 29th exclusively on the Lexus YouTube channel.
