Wendy Williams Starting New Podcast and Claims It Will Make her More Money Than the TV Show
Wendy Williams is plotting her comeback and has revealed how it’s gonna happen!
TMZ caught up with the former talk show host and she told the media outlet that she will be entering the world of podcasting. She already has plans of having big-name celebrity guests to talk to. Williams also stated that she will be making more money through her podcast than she was making from her talk show.
Williams headed her own syndicated talk show, The Wendy Willams Show which aired for 17 years (2008-2022). Several medical conditions forced her off the air for the past year and a half as she battled to get better.
Her manager, Will Selby has stated that instead of returning immediately to television, which was the initial plan, she will enter the world of podcasting soon. Selby will be the executive producer of her upcoming podcast as conversations with Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe and others have been had for them to be featured on the podcast. Included in the list of potential guests that Williams has spoken to are the Kardashians. There is even talk of a member of Donald Trump’s family speaking with Williams for the podcast.
Williams was talk show royalty until she suffered an array of health issues, causing her to miss a swath of shows. Then in February, according to People, the decision to end The Wendy Williams Show was made, with producers announcing a daytime series hosted by Sherri Shepherd, Williams’s former guest host, taking its place.
Last month, Williams said she has no plans to watch Sherri Shepherd’s new talk show.
“I like her, but I won’t be watching her because I know what she’s going to be doing, and that’s really not my thing,” Williams said. “Anyway, but I love being on my own show and I love that people love to watch it all the time.”
