Trizah Morris Asked Judge to Deny Tiffany Haddish’s Attempt To Bring Lawsuit To Arbitration

Comedian Tiffany Haddish’s former friend Trizah Morris filed a lawsuit against the actor for defamation earlier this year and in September, Haddish responded that she wanted the suit to be settled by an arbitrator. She prefers to do it in private because she claims that Morris signed an NDA. Now, RadarOnline has reported that Morris has requested that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge deny Haddish’s motion.

Haddish has claimed that Morris had placed her signature on an agreement that stated that all disputes would be brought before a private court. But, in response, Morris says that the agreement was signed under “extreme duress, threats, bullying, intimidation and coercion” from her former friend and her attorney. The agreement was signed after she and her family were threatened with exposing the names of her son and daughter, according to Morris.

Although she admitted to signing the agreement, Morris said Haddish failed to hold up her end of the deal. Haddish is accused of not making payments of $100k per breach of the agreement.

It was previously reported that Morris is the mother of the two children who accused Haddish and Aries Spears of sexual abuse. The current lawsuit was filed one year after her children sued Haddish and Spears.

According to the documents filed, she said that Haddish became close with her family, with the two children calling the comedian “Auntie Tiff.” In the summer of 2014, Morris alleged that Haddish “groomed and solicited” the children, who were minors, to “perform in, film, record, publish, and distribute sexually inappropriate” material.

Morris alleges that after her children dismissed the case in September 2022, Haddish and Aries defamed her by publicly stating that she was trying to extort them. She claimed that in February, she contacted the attorneys of both comedians requesting that they release a statement that would clear her from the extortion claims. It wasn’t done.

Morris says she has suffered personally, academically, professionally, and financially due to the comedian speaking ill of her. The lawsuit states that she has suffered anxiety and mental anguish over the damage done to her reputation.
