Shawn Carter, Uh, Jay-Z, Named President of Basketball Operations for PUMA
PUMA has announced that they hired Jay-Z as President of Basketball Operations. This comes on the heels of Puma signing several projected first-round NBA picks Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III and Zhaire Smith to multiyear endorsement deals. This is the first time the apparal company has signed NBA endorsement deals since they signed Vince Carter in 1998.
It was also announced that NBA and NY Knick legend, Walt Frazier, has been given a lifetime contract with Puma.
Hova’s main responsibilities will include athlete relationships, design input and overall concept and direction of the brand.
