Shannon Sharpe Is Leaving FS1’s ‘Undisputed’

It’s “undisputed” that Shannon Sharpe will be leaving Skip Bayless and the Fox Sports network.

According to The New York Post, the former NFL player has reportedly agreed with the network to sever their relationship. His last show is expected to be after the upcoming 2023 NBA Finals. partnership with Skip Bayless will soon be coming to a conclusion.

He will no longer participate in the “Undisputed” show that he currently co-hosts with Bayless on Fox Sports 1. In the reported buyout agreement, Sharpe’s podcast, “Club Shay Shay” will also be off the network.

The reason for the departure has not been publicly reported, but fans of the show, particularly of Sharpe, will not be surprised as the two men have been at odds in recent months.

At the end of last year, things got a little heated during an episode of “Undisputed” when Sharpe and Bayless engaged in a discussion that wasn’t particularly cordial. While the two were discussing Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady’s performance in a game, Bayless repeatedly threw shade at Sharpe by reminding him that Brady is still playing at 45. Then he took a shot at the former football player by saying that at 35, Sharpe didn’t match the high playing level of Brady at 45.

Sharpe, clearly agitated, responded in an angry tone to Bayless and reminded him that he is a three-time Super Bowl champ and is also in the NFL Hall of Fame. Bayless goaded Sharpe by stating that Brady is a better football player than Sharpe (although they played completely different positions on the field).

Less than a month later, in early January, Sharpe and Bayless were at odds once again. Bayless posted what many deemed as an insensitive tweet after Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest on national television while playing Monday Night Football.

Fans and observers of the game were upset at his comment and people did not understand why Bayless, knowing that a young man was fighting for his life, would make such a statement.

Sharpe was so outraged that he was noticeably absent the next day on the show. When he did return to the show two days later, he immediately confronted Bayless about the Tweet sent during the football game on Monday.

Before joining “Undisputed,” the 54-year-old Sharpe was on the ESPN show, “First Take” with Stephen A. Smith in 2016.
