June 27, 2024 (Atlanta, GA) — Forbes unveiled their June 23rd, 2024 daily cover story featuring none other than the musical hall-of-famer, and 9x Grammy-nominated multi-platinum super producer, Mike WiLL Made-It. The story that accompanied the cover, ‘How Mike Will Made-It Is Making It In Business’, features a sit-down discussion with Mike WiLL on all things business of music, personal wealth, and investment, as his financial portfolio has flourished throughout his career.
“They believed in me as a producer,” Mike WiLL Made-It says. “Miley, she was the first artist to make me an executive producer on her album [2013’s Bangerz]. And that was a major pop album. It was amazing.”– Mike WiLL Made-It for Forbes
Looking back on his career through the lenses of both business, finance, and music, Mike WiLL highlights the importance of investing in the passions you truly believe in. As an accomplished producer, Mike tells Forbes that the founding of his production company and music label, Ear Drummers Entertainment (Eardrummers), has grown beyond the imaginable. With over 19 artists now signed to Eardrummers, Mike WiLL’s investment in the young talent of Atlanta is just one of the ways he hopes to keep his musical investments steadfast. As he reflects on his early days in production in his sitdown with Forbes’ Jabari Young, in his early years Mike WiLL would go from radio station to radio station in effort to market himself and his music as a young entrepreneur, which is the work ethic that has put him in the position he is in today, estimating earnings around 40 Million dollars from him production catalog to date.
“I’m watching the neighborhood around me develop and turn into something different,” he tells Forbes. “It’s a different hunger. Create a platform and give back but continue to build on the legacy.”
Amidst his success, Mike WiLL has always kept his view of one thing clear, giving back to his community. In 2017, Mike WiLL purchased a warehouse space in Atlanta, spanning a vast 10,000 square feet. The space, which has since been named The WXLLXM, has not only served as a strategic real estate investment for Mike WiLL as Atlanta’s urban growth booms with each passing year, but also as a space for community youth in the forms of inspiring producers, artists, chefs, and more to bring their passions into a supportive environment where they are provided the tools and knowledge to further their careers.
This year Mike WiLL has dominated the charts collaborating with Chief Keef on the single “Dirty Nachos,” along with the mixtape of the same name, which has earned widespread acclaim for its innovative sound and dynamic beats. Meanwhile, he’s aligned himself with dynamic female acts like Sexyy Red for record “Outside“, featured on her album “In Sexyy We Trust” and Coi Leray for “Wanna Come Thru” and her “Lemon Cars” EP, entirely produced by Mike WiLL and producers from his Ear Drummers label.
