Malcolm Mays Not Allowed Back In Premiere of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Party By NYPD Officers
Malcolm Mays is an actor who stars in the 50 Cent-produced Starz series, “Raising Kanan.” He attended the season 4 premiere party for “Power Book II: Ghost” in New York City on June 6, but, police officers from the NYPD kicked him out of the showing for unknown reasons, according to VIBE.
A video picked up the interaction as two white police officers are seen grabbing Mays by the arms and taking him out to the sidewalk. As he is protesting the treatment, he leaves his hands in the air as he is led outside of the roped barrier. Other individuals approach the actor to try to calm him down, as he walks away from the officers. He is then seen talking to a young lady and then goes back toward the building to confront the police officers.
Still frustrated that he couldn’t get back in, he talks to the officers as they stand there in front of him. It’s also apparent that the people standing in back of the police don’t know who he is or if they do, aren’t willing to verify that he should be inside.
He speaks to the officers and asks them if they knew who he was after he questioned them about a Black gentleman wearing a suit. After they said they did not know who Mays was, he responded by saying, “And that’s the problem. You just listen to whoever is talking to you, but when I talk, you don’t want to listen, right? Cause I’m a Black man, but this mothaf**ker got a suit on, so you listening to this b**ch, n**ga.”
Nevertheless, he wasn’t allowed to re-enter the venue.
AllHipHop tried to give a little clarity to the situation.
Mays was already inside the venue and was already seated. He went outside for reasons unknown, yet, when the actor tried to go back in, he was met with resistance from police officers.
