Both Suicide Squad: The Album & movie have seen a mountain of success over the weekend. The soundtrack made an impressive debut peaking at #1 on iTunes in 31 total countries globally including the U.S.
Suicide Squad: The Album is currently sitting at the top of the iTunes overall albums chart, while “Heathens” from Twenty One Pilots and “Sucker for Pain” from Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons with Logic and Ty Dolla $ign (feat. X Ambassadors) re-enter their spot in the Top 5 songs on iTunes. In addition, the 2 aforementioned singles along with Panic! At The Disco’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” all sat in the Top 10 songs on iTunes over the weekend.
What’s more, the 4 day old visual for Skrillex & Rick Ross’ “Purple Lamborghini” surpassed 3 million views in the first 24 hours, amassing 11.4 million views to date.
During its opening weekend, Suicide Squad grossed 135 million in the US; The film broke records not only as the biggest August opening this year but with the biggest August opening in history.
