Ice Cube and Jesse Collins Collaborate for Big3 Docuseries
The entrepreneurial rise of former N.W.A. member, Ice Cube will be documented in a new sports docuseries that goes behind the scene to tell the story of his successful basketball league, Big3.
According to Deadline, O’Shea Jackson, who we know as Ice Cube, is collaborating with the powerful Jesse Collins to produce the docuseries that will feature the sports league he started several years ago. Cube will be starring in the project as well. The rapping executive will produce it under his production banner, Cube Vision, while Collins will do so under Jesse Collins Entertainment.

The docuseries, which does not have a title yet will look at the building of one of the fastest-growing new leagues in the country. it’s being described as Welcome to Wrexham and Cheer meets basketball. It will feature the narration of Cube and the direction of how Cube and his company started the 3-on-3 league. There will also be a journey of following one of the Big3 teams as they navigate the ups and downs of a season in pursuit of a national championship.
Cube and his business partner, entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz informed the world in January 2017 of the new, 3-on-3, half-court basketball league. Ever since its inception, it features many former NBA players who left the league or retired from the NBA. When it debuted, Cube and Kwatinetz had a shared vision of a player-centric league that would be focused on entertainment and innovation. The Big3 league introduced the 4-point shot, with three 4-point circles beyond the 3-point line.
Last year, the Big3 had the distinction of becoming the first professional sports league certified by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a Black-owned and operated business.
With the upcoming project, Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Madison Merritt will be the executive producers of the docuseries for Jesse Collins Entertainment while Ice Cube’s Cube Vision and his Big3 partner Kwatinetz will share the duties as well.
