Davis and his GTD Development, have plans to develop the buildings on the block he grew up on. The boxer plans to have the units turned into affordable housing for the neighborhood.
Davis’ boxing coach, Calvin Ford was on the scene with firefighters as they doused the buildings with water streams from the fire trucks. He captured video of the scene as onlookers are heard speaking about the incident taking place.

People who wrote on the Instagram post were frustrated with the latest happening that seems to put a dent on the spotlight of someone trying to do good for his community.
But, all was not lost in negativity for the Baltimore-bred pugilist this past week.
Essentially Sports also reported that Davis recently converted to Islam. WBC cruiserweight champion Badou Jack congratulated the boxer and posted a video clip of Davis’ conversion on Christmas Eve.
“Welcome to Islam, brother Gervontaa. Alhamdulillah.”

Davis is just the latest of boxing champions who converted to the faith. The most famous one may be Cassius Clay who became Muhammad Ali. Brooklyn’s Mike Tyson also converted to Islam and Bernard Hopkins is another one who left Christianity to practice the teaching of Islam.
