Chris Paul’s Mother and Wife Allegedly Touched By Fan Before Being Ejected From Phoenix Suns-Dallas Mavericks Playoff Game
With the exorbitant price sports fans pay to attend a sporting event live, specifically courtside, there has been a slate of issues with fans showing disrespect toward players. On Sunday, a fan allegedly crossed the line by physically attacking the family members of an opposing team’s player.
According to the New York Post, at Sunday’s Dallas Mavericks versus Phoenix Suns playoff game, a Dallas fan allegedly got physical with Suns’ point guard, Chris Paul‘s family during the competition. A video started circulating showing a young fan being escorted out of the arena by security guards. Paul can be seen yelling at the fan as he walked by the team’s bench.

It’s been reported that Paul’s mother, Robin was physically touched by fans and his wife, Jada had been pushed as well. Chris witnessed the action that took place behind the Suns’ bench during the game at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Paul’s children witnessed the incident as well and Paul told security guards that his family “felt very unsafe.”
Paul tweeted after the game about his displeasure about the NBA having basketball players being fined when they have words with fans, yet, fans can “put they hands” on family members.
“Wanna fine players for saying stuff to the fans but the fans can put they hands on our families….f**k that!!
The Dallas Mavericks released a statement pertaining to the incident after the contest.
“The Dallas Mavericks are aware of an incident between a fan and the family of Chris Paul,” the statement read. “It was unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated. The Mavericks, along with American Airlines Center, swiftly removed the fan from today’s game.”

This is not the first time a family member was threatened by fans of an opposing basketball team.
Last November, Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James had several fans who were sitting courtside ejected for what appeared to be heckling. At the time, what people didn’t know was that those two fans had reportedly wished death upon James’ son, Bronny.
According to Ace Showbiz, the two fans who were ejected at the direction of James allegedly stated during the game that they hoped that Bronny “dies in a car wreck.”
In his team’s overtime victory against the Indiana Pacers on November 24, after the duo taunted James, the 36-year-old player requested that referee Rodney Mott and officials from Gainbridge Fieldhouse eject the man and woman for the crude comments.
