Former New York Giants player, Saquon Barkley recently signed an approximate $37.8 million contract with one of the Giants’ biggest rivals, choosing to stay in the NFL Eastern Conference by joining the Philadelphia Eagles for the next three seasons, according to AfroTech.

Barkley was an integral part of the team as he played his entire career with the New York team accumulating 5,211 yards and scoring 35 touchdowns. Now, he will be building on that for one of the Giants’ hated rivals, the Eagles to try to bring another ring to the City of Brotherly Love after the team won the Super Bowl in 2018.

The running back is no stranger to Pennsylvania as he played his collegiate career at Pennsylvania State University in University Park. While attending he became Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Running Back of the Year twice in 2016 and 2017. He is also the school’s record holder for the most rushing touchdowns (43) and total touchdowns (53). He ran for 3,000 rushing yards and caught passes for 1,000 receiving yards during his time at Penn State. He was the second overall player selected in the 2018 NFL Draft by his former team, the Giants.

Now he will be playing with one of the elite quarterbacks of the league, Jalen Hurts. But the one thing that won’t be hurting is Barkley’s bank statements.

Sportskeeda reported that the Eagles deal is a three-year, $37,750,000 contract. With a signing bonus of $11,625,000, he will have an average yearly salary of $12,583,333, with $26,000,000 in guaranteed money. This upcoming season, Barkley will earn a base salary of $1,375,000 since he earned the $11,625,000 signing bonus when he signed the deal.
