Taylor Gang Ent. rapper Chevy Woods celebrates success on his “All the Way Up” Freestyle, co-opting the New York anthem to lay down bars about jetsetting and living the life. Woods rhymes atop the booming production, rapping “I’m fresh from Dubai, unload the jet/ I be on the flight you will never catch.” Prior to “All the Way Up,” Woods celebrated his birthday with “Forever,” which followed And the Story Goes…, a 4-part video EP that begins with the Pittsburgh rapper reflecting on his adolescence and contemplating career paths. Featuring Styles P and Dave East, the project’s final track found Woods embracing successes from I.D. Labs recording studio where he and Wiz Khalifa met and began harnessing their talent as independent artists in the mid 2000’s while tying in clips from a vibrant hometown performance. Directed by Wiley Films, the video EP released as a free download via Taylor Gang Ent.

Chevy Woods is showing no signs of stopping. With an album slated for release later this year, he’s been consistently releasing treats for his fans. In addition to “Forever,” And the Story Goes…, and his collection of freestyles titled The Freemix, he recently teamed up with buzzing Atlanta rapper Rich the Kid for “Wit My Dogs,” a Nard & B.-produced anthem for celebrating with the homies. The Background:

Chevy Woods has been building up momentum with his mixtapes Red Cup Music, The Cook Out, and the Gangland series, progressing his sound with each release. After years of writing and recording in his home studio, Chevy traded in his keyboard for cash to pay for studio time. In 2004, while recording at Pittsburgh’s I.D. Labs Studios, Chevy encountered Wiz Khalifa and the two instantly formed a bond. “Me and Wiz, we always had each other’s backs. Since we were both recording at I.D. Labs at the same time, we would hold each other down,” Chevy has explained. “Even if it was just picking up Wendy’s for the other one on our way to the studio.”
