New Talk Show Title 'Hell of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God'

Charlamagne Tha God Replaces ‘Tha God’s Honest Truth’ With ‘Hell of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God’ on July 28th

After having a successful run of his television show, Tha God’s Honest Truth on Comedy Central earlier this year, The Breakfast Club‘s Charlamagne Tha God is abandoning that show’s format to re-introduce his latest iteration of the late-night show.

MTV Entertainment Studios recently announced that there will be a change for the upcoming season two of Charlamagne Tha God’s weekly late-night show on Comedy Central. Starting later this month, the show will debut with a new name and totally new format but with the same host! Premiering on Thursday, July 28^th at 11:30 PM ET/PT, the newly formatted show, Comedy Central’s Hell of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God will feature Charlamagne with influential guests and hilarious and unfiltered take on the most talked about topics for that week.

“Last year I shared ‘THA GOD’S HONEST TRUTH’ about politics, culture and social issues but this year, I’m thinking enough shows talking about problems; I want to discuss solutions,” said Lenard “Charlamagne” McKelvey. “Regardless of if the conversation is politics, entertainment, or just some random f**k sh** going on in the culture, ‘Hell of A Week’ will be a safe space for free speech & a safe space for comedy. Basically, if you don’t want to be ‘canceled,’ this isn’t the show for you.”

Comedy Central’s Hell of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God is still being executive produced by Stephen Colbert and Charlamagne. This season’s half-hour weekly show will showcase unlikely pairings of personalities like comedians, outspoken celebrities, and thought-leaders across the political spectrum. They will discuss and debate the current events that will be permeating politics and culture with influential guests unpacking the narratives that are making headlines.

Lenard “Charlamagne” McKelvey, Stephen Colbert, Rachael Edwards (who also serves as Showrunner), Josh Lieb, Aaron McGruder, Karen Kinney, James Dixon and Norm Aladjem are also on board executive producers. Lisa D. Goumelle is Executive in Charge of Comedy Central’s Hell of A Week with Charlamagne Tha God.

Ari Pearce, Bola Fapohunda and Driadonna Roland are executive producers with Matthew Parillo as Executive in Charge for MTV Entertainment Studios.

The new season makes its debut on Thursday, July 28 at 11:30 ET/PT.
