Bronny James Finally Makes Collegiate Debut For USC

The highly-anticipated collegiate debut of aspiring NBA player, Bronny James has finally occurred over the weekend. On Sunday, Dec. 10 at the University of Southern California, James stepped on the basketball court for his first official play barely five months after suffering a cardiac arrest during a preseason practice.

According to NBC News, the eldest son of future NBA Hall of Fame, LeBron James made his way to the court for his home and season debut. The freshman, who is already popular amongst his teammates and USC fans entered the game after about 13 minutes had already been played. As promised, his father was there to witness the entry along with the thousands of fans in the arena.

After Bronny was officially cleared to return to the hardwood on Nov. 30, LeBron vowed that nothing, not even an NBA game would stop him from attending his son’s first college game.

Fans were impressed with the defensive play of the freshman when he mimicked his father while blocking an opponent’s shot after sprinting downcourt to catch him electrified the crowd.

Bronny made his first college bucket in the first half and connected on a three.

The Trojans weren’t able to pull out the victory losing to Long Beach State, 84-79.

After the game, Bronny spoke to the press and thanked all who supported him through his health issue.

ā€œI just want to say Iā€™m thankful for everything. Mayo Clinic, everything they helped me with. My parents, siblings for supporting me through this hard time of my life. I just want to give appreciation to everyone thatā€™s helped me through this.”

And the proud father posted an inspirational message to his son after he achieved the milestone.

“Canā€™t even tell yā€™all how EMOTIONAL today was for me! Iā€™m literally drained and all I can say is @bronny youā€™re simply INCREDIBLE!! Damn the wins and loses that will occur. Youā€™ve already won the ultimate goal/championship and thatā€™s LIFE!!! Proud of you kid and today youā€™ve given me more life! Thank you and I love you šŸ¤ŽšŸ™šŸ¾šŸ¤“šŸ¾šŸ„ŗ ”

The Trojans are currently in 10th place with a record of 5-4. Their next game is scheduled for Dec. 17 against Auburn.
