‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ Trailer Released, Slated For Summer 2024 Release On Netflix
Axel Foley makes an appearance 30 years after first being seen on movie screens in 1984 in the Eddie Murphy-led film, Beverly Hill Cops. After seemingly being out of sight for many years, Murphy is back in movie-making mode as the official trailer for the upcoming sequel, “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” the fourth in the installment, has been released. This will be released exclusively on Netflix.
In this trailer, Murphy looks amazingly great for a reprisal of a role he played 30 years ago. Looking at the clip, it barely looks like he has put on years or pounds in comparison to his castmates. The trailer is action-packed with the backdrop being the Notorious B.I.G.’s hit record, “Going Back To Cali.” The clip shows gun fights, car crashes, and Murphy still getting in trouble as it starts with the infamous vintage Detroit Lions jacket he proudly displayed in previous films.
The description of the film states: “Detective Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) is back on the beat in Beverly Hills. After his daughter’s life is threatened, she (Taylour Paige) and Foley team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to turn up the heat and uncover a conspiracy.”
Paul Reiser is also returning to reprise his role of Jeffrey Friedman and Serge (Bronson Pinchot), who is seen in the trailer, makes an appearance in the film.
The initial Beverly Hills Cop film was released back in 1984, followed by two sequels in 1987 and 1994, and has grossed $735.5 million worldwide. There was an attempt to make a Beverly Hills Cop television series back in 2013, but that didn’t pan out.
The Saturday Night Live alum can be seen currently in the Christmas comedy, “Candy Cane Lane,” which co-stars “black-ish” actor, Tracee Ellis Ross.
“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” is slated for a summer 2024 release on Netflix.
