His evolution from DJ to chef came as a byproduct of traveling the globe with his esteemed clients. During visits to various countries and U.S. cities, he began to broaden his horizons through the exploration of food, both local and gourmet. The experience of learning more about various cooking techniques and the importance of a balanced diet are what inspired him to embark on a journey to create his own high quality dishes that anyone would feel good about enjoying.
Made From Scratch, a gourmet company owned and operated by Dallas Green, creatively combines his love of food and music. In 2014, the chef’s first pop up location opened in Long Island City, NY; just 8 short miles from the neighborhood where he grew up in Harlem. The charismatic, self-made entrepreneur has been featured on cooking segments for Fox’s Good Day New York and Centric’s Arise 360. The rapid acceptance of his signature Red Velvet Popcorn has earned him honorable mentions in The NY Times and Entertainment Weekly, with each reaching over 1 million readers.
A native of Harlem, NY, Dallas Green is currently Head Chef at 57 Belle House and is a regular feature on Sirius XM’s Shade 45 with his segment “Straight Grubbin,” where he showcases both his food and music to a diverse, national listening audience. His traveling chicken and waffle pop ups are the latest of his many accomplishments. Dallas Green makes it a point to prepare every dish with love and creativity as he believes these are the two most important ingredients for any meal.
Dallas Green is passionate about inspiring children to follow their dreams. He leverages partnerships with Get Schooled, Department of Education and the NBA to share his unconventional path to success and show children that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. He resides in NJ with his wife and has two children.
