(Los Angeles, CA – February 22, 2019) — The Living Legends Foundation (LLF) is proud to present The Ninth Annual Living Legends Foundation A.D. Washington Scholarship Golf Tournament, Atlanta’s premier entertainment industry golf tournament of 2019. The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club at 100 Crystal Lake Boulevard in Hampton, GA. Registration is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.; shotgun starts at 9:30 a.m.
Golfers from across the country will compete in a day of golf and networking while supporting the mission of the Living Legends Foundation. Proceeds will benefit the organization’s mentoring and educational efforts through the LLF Scholarship Program, which assists the next generation of music makers and caretakers in their academic endeavors.
The Honorary Chairperson for the event is Kevin Liles, CEO, and co-founder of 300 Entertainment, an entertainment-based content company, and a top three independent record label. 300’s current multi-genre artist roster includes Young Thug, Fetty Wap, Gunna, Tee Grizzley, Highly Suspect, Cheat Codes, and more. Liles has previously served as Executive Vice President of Warner Music Group and President of Island Def Jam Music Group.
“It’s my honor to serve as chairperson for the Living Legends Foundation’s A.D. Washington Scholarship Golf Tournament,” says Liles. “As an executive, I feel with success comes responsibility. It’s important for me to give back, supporting not only other veterans in the entertainment business but also supporting HBCU students. My love for the game is something I want to share with the world. I’m looking forward to a great day of giving and golf.”
LLF Board Member Sam Weaver is the Golf Committee Chairperson. Weaver is currently Urban/Urban Adult Contemporary Editor for All Access Music Group and owner of Radiocoach.biz, a radio talent coach/strategic advisory service for on-air talent and program directors.
“I am happy to help with the Living Legends Foundation golf tournament and most importantly continue to raise money to support our various educational initiatives,” says Weaver. “I’m especially excited that Kevin Liles agreed to be our Honorary Chair. It’s going to be another fun day on the links.”
The LLF Golf Tournament was renamed this year in honor of the foundation’s longest-serving chairman, record executive A.D. Washington, who led the foundation from 1998 to 2011. He passed away on Nov. 22, 2017.
“Our annual golf tournament is always a worthy event that allows us to fulfill our goals as both a charitable organization and a vital networking group that brings industry professionals together from across the country,” says David Linton, Chairman of the Living Legends Foundation. “It was a no-brainer to honor A.D. Washington, by renaming the tournament after him. We will always remember his dedication to the foundation, and the tournament was one of his favorite events.”
Atlanta native and music industry veteran Cie Cie Wilson is the tournament director. Registration is open on the website with early bird registration fees in place until March 25, click here. Sponsorship packages are also available for the event.
