Meghan Markle Debuts Archetypes Podcast Featuring Good Friend, Serena Williams
A new podcast was debuted recently by the Duchess of Sussex and her very first guest was future Hall of Fame tennis professional, Serena Williams.
ABC Audio announced that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, on Tuesday just released the first episode of her own podcast, Archetypes. The debut of the podcast took place with the assistance of her good friend, Serena Williams.
After an initial encounter at the 2014 Super Bowl, which took place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the two became “fast friends” which led to Williams coming on as Markle’s first guest.
Williams has recently revealed that she is hanging her tennis racquet up for good, so the two friends discussed that in this first episode. During the talk, they stated that Prince Harry, who is married to Markle, had a hand in Williams’ decision to retire from the sport of tennis.
“He was trying to knock some sense into me and I’m just like, ‘Uh,'” said Williams on Archetypes.
“I think, you know, I think both of us, or the three of us, really know that sometimes the right decision isn’t the easiest decision,” Markle chimes in. “It’s a hard decision. And it takes a lot of thought, and a lot of counsel and a lot of support to just go ‘uh uh uh’ and then just make the choice.”
During the discussion, Good Morning America reported that the two women spoke about different, terrifying situations that took place that involved their children. Markle explained that while staying in South Africa,in her baby’s room, a heater caught on fire, but, luckily, the nanny took Archie, her son, with her to get a snack, avoiding Archie being in the nursery as it went ablaze. Williams spoke about the time playing at the 2018 French Open when Olympia, her daughter broke her wrist when she fell from a high chair. She had to finish the match knowing her baby was injured.
Markle’s next episode, set for next week will feature Mariah Carey.
