Last month the UBCTV network announced that they just inked a deal to join Freecast, one of the world’s largest Free Ad Supported Television platforms in the world, releasing a plethora of shows, including UBC Fiscal Fitness, Rucker Park Basketball, UBC Independent Music Videos, Style and Beauty Cafe, Its A Ant Jones World, If These Walls Could Talk, National Sounds Of Gospel TV, City Vines, This Week Africa, Culturally Lit Africa, Grindhard TV, UBC Wellness, Triverity Talk, Body By Alexis, The Final Round, Live From The Next Sound Studio, Global Women’s Basketball, and Mr. Jay V Comedy Show.
Now, the UBCTV platform has secured the broadcast rights to the 2024 Hoop It Up HBCU Tournament. Hoop It Up, the popular 3×3 basketball tour established in 1989 and owned by NBA legend Kevin Garnett, launched its first HBCU competition last year which consisted of intramural 3×3 competition at select HBCU colleges. Allen University, Benedict College, Claflin University, Clinton College, and South Carolina State University competed in the Hoop It Up HBCU Championship. Benedict won the men’s championship and South Carolina State won the women’s title.
The deal inked with UBCTV network allows worldwide eyes on the event in 2024 and there is great anticipation for this year’s tournament. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase our 3×3 HBCU Tournament this year, to new audiences,” said George Daniel, CEO of Big Ticket Sports, operator of Hoop It Up.
