Ivory Scott Debuts First Project, ‘Mud’ After Creating Hits For Many Other Artists
Ivory Scott has written for the likes of Chris Brown, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Latto, Big Sean, Trippie Redd, Lil Durk, and several other artists
A new project was just released by Chicago songwriter and recording artist Ivory Scott, titled “Mud,” on Friday, March 28. The good folks at MNRK Music Group and The Legion Media Group had an exclusive press dinner with select media outlets to hear some of the music as well as meet the man himself, two days before his debut album dropped.
This is Scott’s first album, but he is not a rookie in any stretch as he has written for the likes of Chris Brown, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Latto, Big Sean, Trippie Redd, Lil Durk, and several other artists, so his catalog is already impressive. Having released a single this past January, “99 Times,” he is primed to make it as an artist, taking the stage to make the same type of noise that the artists he has produced for are making.
“Mud” has several features by Queen Niaja, 2 Chainz, Yung Bleu, Kevin Gates, and Tink.
While dining on some entrees and appetizers at Sei Less in Manhattan, we got a chance to hear from Scott and what took place before he embarked on his career, as well as what he anticipates for his future in the music industry. Hailing from Chicago, he stated he grew up in poverty, without his mother in his life and his father a drug user, he was basically raised by his sister. Going through the trials and tribulations of his situation, his sister was his strength, and sadly, she passed away in 2020, so she isn’t able to witness (at least not in the physical) one of his greatest accomplishments right now in releasing his first project.
After leaving Chicago at 17, he took the trip to California and spent nine months in his car, hustling his way to making his dream come true. Now the time is here for him to show the world his talent, but this time, on the front line.
