After a busy first quarter, TY DOLLA $IGN has returned with new music! This time, in the form of the deluxe edition of his critically-acclaimed debut album “FREE TC,” which will be available at all digital retailers & streaming partners on MARCH 25TH. The extended version of the collection features 4 new songs including the recently released hit, “Wavy (feat. Ty closed out a blockbuster 2015 with the release of his debut album “FREE TC,” which The New York Times called “easily one of the best R&B albums of the year,” crowning Ty as “one of the most intuitive songwriters working today.” “FREE TC” features appearances from some of music’s heavy hitters including Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, R. Kelly, Fetty Wap, Babyface, Diddy, Brandy, Jagged Edge, Wiz Khalifa, YG and even Ty’s brother, Big TC. Ty also recently performed his new single “Saved” alongside E-40 on Conan.
In addition to the release of the deluxe edition of “FREE TC,” Ty will debut & release his documentary appropriately titled, “FREE TC,” with a special screening on March 23RD in Los Angeles, presented by Beats by Dre. The captivating visual details the story behind Big TC, Ty’s brother who is wrongfully incarcerated & features never-before-seen footage & interviews. The event will feature a diverse panel of esteemed public social & human rights activists, including Marcus Bell (founder of My Anti Gang,) Obie Anthony (founder of Exonerated Nation,) James P. Anderson (program coordinator of Anti-Recidivism Coalition) and Sabra Williams (artist & founder of The Actors’ Gang Prison Project,) with more to be announced. The intimate event will be moderated by veteran radio host Big Boy of REAL 92.3’s “Big Boy’s Neighborhood.” Panel topics will range from everything including the Black Lives Matter movement to wrongful imprisonment and more.
Adding to what was already an incredible 2015, Ty is also celebrating “Blasé (feat. Future & Rae Sremmurd)” being certified Gold, while his hit singles “Paranoid (feat. B.o.B)” & “Or Nah (feat. DJ Mustard & Wiz Khalifa),” from his acclaimed “BEACH HOUSE EP” are both now certified Platinum.
What’s more, the GRAMMY-nominated superstar landed on numerous 2015 year-end lists. NPR placed “FREE TC” on their list of “50 Favorite Albums Of 2015” and “Miracle/Whenever (feat. Big TC & D-Loc)” on their list of “Favorite Songs Of 2015.” “FREE TC” was also ranked on “Best Albums” lists from The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, Noisey and Complex, who also placed “Miracle/Whenever (feat. Big TC & D-Loc)” on their “50 Best Songs Of 2015” list. Ty’s singles “Solid (feat. Babyface)” and “Blasé (feat. Future & Rae Sremmurd)” were included as one of Fader’s “107 Best Songs Of 2015” and Pitchfork’s “100 Best Tracks Of 2015,” respectively.
The Los Angeles-bred singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist kicked off 2016 as the special guest on Future’s 22-city, sold out “The Purple Reign Tour,” which began on February 17th in Madison, WI and wrapped On March 19th in San Jose, CA. Up next, Ty heads overseas for the European leg of the “FREE TC TOUR” which will see the hip-hop star bringing his electrifying live show to stages in France, Spain, Germany, Ireland and more. This new set of shows also includes selects dates on UK rap duo Krept & Konan’s sold out “A Night To Remember Tour” in April. This summer, Ty will head back overseas to hit the festival circuit, which includes a performance at this year’s Wireless Festival on July 10, alongside the likes of Kehlani, Young Thug, Jeremih and more.
