| Quality Control’s rising R&B singer and songwriter Syamali has released her latest single “Dirt” alongside its accompanying music video via Quality Control Music.
The new single finds Syamali putting a relationship to rest, pairing lyrics about the aftermath of heartbreak with a stripped-back opening that builds into punchy percussion and layered melodies. The accompanying video takes that farewell literally, with Syamali presiding over a funeral in an open field. Scenes of grave digging and her matter-of-fact performance bring a dark sense of humor to the breakup, trading mourning for the satisfaction of moving on. “Dirt” follows “Girls Like Me Don’t Change,” a breakup song about a recovering people-pleaser recognizing when it’s time to walk away. Together, the tracks introduce a songwriter willing to examine her own role in a relationship as closely as the person on the other side. Originally from Alachua, Florida, the 21-year-old classically trained vocalist and pianist began writing about love and heartbreak through stories she absorbed from music, movies, and television. Moving to Miami at 18 brought new experiences that now inform her songwriting. Now signed to QC, Syamali draws from that transition into adulthood, exploring relationships, self-discovery, and the uncertainty of figuring things out as she goes. |

| About Syamali:
21-year-old Syamali makes pop music about the messy middle of becoming—the moment when you know better, feel everything, and are still figuring out who you are. A classically trained vocalist and pianist, she grew up shy and unusually sheltered in Alachua, Florida, writing about love and heartbreak long before she had fully lived either, piecing together ideas of romance from songs, movies, television, and her own imagination. Moving to Miami at 18 opened up a bigger, faster world—and gave her the real experiences that now shape her emotionally direct songwriting. Her next chapter begins with “Girls Like Me Don’t Change,” a self-aware breakup record about a recovering people-pleaser realizing that sometimes staying is more dishonest than walking away. Now part of Quality Control Music, Syamali is turning the contradictions of growing up into songs for anyone becoming alongside her.
