Robyn Dixon Juggles Entrepreneurship And Entertainment As She Grows Her Enterprise and Show Business Resume
In 2023, Robyn Dixon became the owner of her first GLO30 franchise
In 2023, Robyn Dixon, who is a cast member of the Peacock reality show, “The Traitors” became the owner of her first GLO30 franchise. She invested in the studio after being a customer of the brand. After launching in Columbia, Maryland, she will be expanding the business across the state in the future. She is primed to become even more successful with the opening of more GLO30 studios to feed her entrepreneurial spirit. She had gotten off to a great start upon opening when she was able to sign 100 members to the studio when it opened last year.
As she is also a television personality, having previously appeared on “Real Housewives of Potomac” and co-hosting a podcast, “Reasonably Shady” with Gizelle Bryant, she has to juggle between her business endeavors as well as her entertainment ventures and is aiming to become more successful in all that she does.
The Industry Cosign got the opportunity to speak to Dixon as she speaks about the GLO30 franchise, her appearance on “The Traitors,” and how she is able to function between showcasing her talents and running a business.
You’ve recently opened your first GLO30 location. Tell us what GLO 30 is, where it’s located, and the reason you embarked on this endeavor.
GLO30 is the nation’s fastest-growing subscription-based skincare studio that specializes in personalized facials every 30 days. My location is in Columbia, Maryland, and it’s extra special to me because I started as a loyal GLO30 member myself. After seeing incredible results with their services and how much my skin improved, I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of. Beyond that, I was inspired by the strong business model and the passion of CEO and Founder Dr. Arleen Lamba had for the brand. Her vision for making advanced skincare accessible to everyone truly resonated with me, and I saw an amazing opportunity to bring that to my community as a franchise owner.
You’re a cast member on Peacock’s The Traitors. For those who may not know the show, what is it about and what should people expect with your participation in the show?
The Traitors is a murder mystery filmed in a beautiful castle in Scotland. Over 20 reality stars and celebrities work together to uncover and banish the bad guys (traitors) while fighting to stay alive until the end in order to claim the prize fund of up to $250,000. I loved watching seasons 1 and 2 of The Traitors and was so excited to be included as part of the cast for season 3. You can watch the season now, streaming on Peacock. I definitely made the most of my time while in the castle on The Traitors and was not afraid to speak up while simultaneously working to find the traitors and defending myself from being accused of being one! It was both a very stressful and fun experience.
Being an entertainer and business owner, how do you juggle between running a business and showcasing your talent?
I’ve learned how to balance my different roles so that my work in television never overshadows my responsibilities as a franchise owner. When I’m at GLO30, my focus is on the business—our services, our team, and creating the best possible experience for every client who walks through the door. I always appreciate when people recognize me from TV and love connecting with them, but I never assume that’s why they’re here. My goal is to make sure GLO30 stands on its own, not because of me, but because of the quality of what we offer. I keep my TV career separate from my business, but I do recognize how the skills and platform I’ve built in entertainment can be valuable in entrepreneurship.
As an entrepreneur, do you have other businesses, and/or do you plan on being involved in other ventures in the near future?
I’ve always looked for ways to create businesses that align with my passions and serve a real need. I launched Embellished in 2020, my satin-lined hat brand, to offer stylish and protective headwear, and it was amazing to see how well it resonated with people. Embellished is still thriving alongside my work with GLO30.
Looking ahead, I definitely plan to continue growing as a businesswoman. Right now, my focus is on scaling GLO30 organically and ensuring it thrives, but I would love to expand to more locations in the future. I’m also always open to exploring new opportunities in beauty, fashion, and beyond—anything that allows me to build something meaningful while empowering others.
What advice would you give anyone who wants to pursue their passion and become successful?
Whenever starting a business or working towards a goal, you should always remember the saying, “closed mouths don’t get fed.” I have achieved most of my successes by first sharing my goals with aligned people and asking for advice, information, and referrals. Seeking information and acting on positive advice and help have been the most influential factor in helping me achieve my goals.
Also, don’t be afraid/ashamed to start small and set small goals for yourself. Running and sustaining a successful business is a grind and too often Instagram makes being a business owner look lavish and easy. Set small goals for yourself/your business and continue to build upon your hard work and consistency. The wins will come!
