TikTok food critic phenom Keith Lee has recently announced a food festival, Familee Festival, that will be taking place in the Big Easy, New Orleans, in May.

The popular food critic alerted his fans and followers on social media about the event that will happen May 16. In the video, he begins by saying he was going to just say, “Hey! We got a food festival coming out!” and notes that there will be food, fun, and family. But then he pivots.

“I got to be honest with y’all,” Lee informed them. “It’s way deeper than that to me. This is something we’ve been working on for the last year. I think it’s going to be the best festival on planet Earth.”

He then goes on to state why people should come out to support the event, citing the food, and saying that there will also be some big musical acts at the festival. He promises the music will resonate with kids, adults, and grandparents, making it a real family event. But there will also be fun activities, such as carnival rides and sports, including an obstacle course overseen by his family. There will also be friendly competition, with participants rewarded with prizes.

This is the first, but he plans to do it annually in different cities to promote the local food in each city.

Lee is encouraging people to purchase their tickets when they become available on Feb. 9, warning that prices will increase closer to the event.

“We’ve been working a year on this, and I can’t wait for y’all to see it.”
