Angel Reese Named WNBA Player of the Week

Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese continues to thrill crowds and make an immediate impact in the WNBA as she was just recently named WNBA Player of the Week. She becomes the first rookie this season to achieve the feat.

This announcement comes after an eventful week where she broke the WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles when she did so for the last 14 games. During week 7, she averaged 16.8 points and grabbed an average of 14 rebounds while dishing out 1.2 assists during games played last week.

This honor comes after the impressive rookie was named WNBA Rookie of the Month in June.

Reese averaged 14.5 points and 13.2 rebounds per game during June and had double-digit rebounds in all 11 games for the month. After her record-breaking June, she is now in sole possession of first place in rebounds per game (11.4).

The same day she was announced as the rookie of the month, the league also mentioned that she would also play in the league’s 20th All-Star Game on Saturday, July 20 taking place in Phoenix.

Along with the recent honors, Reese and her teammate, Kamilla Cardoso just had their 3rd game where both scored double-doubles in the same season. This is the most ever for a rookie duo in WNBA history.

With all the accolades the rookie has been getting, she also debuted a new look and shared the news on social media. Before showing off her new look, she took to social media to reveal her next move to her dedicated fans.

She told her followers in a follow-up message, “yall me and wigs dont go together i can’t keep up with lace AT ALL and im not wearing no headband anywhere.”

After getting her hair in a natural style, she revealed her latest hairdo to the masses.
